Mitch Ranger’s breadth of work has taken him border to border, coast to coast. He’s been featured in publications such as Communication Arts and Graphis. With a creative stamp all his own, Mitch Ranger’s work is becoming unmistakable. Though such success from a young photographer may seem inexplicable, his humble beginnings and relentless work regimen may shed light on his acclaim.
After coming of age in Northeast Michigan, Mitch set off for college, initially to study business. Soon it became clear that his talent with a camera was too extraordinary to overlook. What developed was a decision to switch his studies toward photography. He spent time in the Midwest assisting more than 20 photographers. He traveled. He learned. He honed his skills. Then he made a pivotal move to West Michigan, where he continues to make his mark.
From pop culture to politics, Mitch Ranger has made a name for himself by capturing, on camera, the people and the world around him. He holds no priority higher than that of his work. With a passion that goes beyond the lens, Mitch Ranger has made his own style, creating a fine line between social life and career. What’s more is that he’s found a way to bring out the best in his subjects, creating an optimal environment for those around him.
With an endless drive to become a renown portrait shooter like some of his biggest influences (Avedon, Leibovitz), Mitch Ranger isn’t concerned with convention or any five-year career plan. Right now he’s just eager to continue, cultivating inspiration from his influences, his peers, his subjects, and his staff to do what he lives and breathes every day—photography. This is Mitch Ranger, for the moment. Take a look.
